ANN ARBOR -- The Ann Arbor City Council wants the University of Michigan to tackle the cost of extra patrols on football Saturdays.

The Big House is the biggest stadium in the country. It seats 112,500 football fans. While those fans bring revenue to the university, the city says it’s costing them.

AnnArbor.com  reports the Big House crowds cost the city about $100,000 a year in signs and signal services alone.  So, they’re asking the program to pitch in and pay for the extra security.

The report says U of M has until August 26th to reach an agreement on the reimbursement costs.
