With a win on Friday, the Eagles will win their first district championship

LINDEN -- After losing their season finale to Lapeer East 24-20, revenge is certainly on the minds of the Linden Eagles.

But after Friday, they hope to have an even bigger prize—Linden’s first-ever district title.

"We’ve been there three other times, we’ve made the playoffs about 11 times in a row now,” said Denny Hopkins, Linden head coach. “For our program, it would be a big plus.”

The Eagles hope they are the the ones who will be celebrating as the Lapeer East Eagles will be going for their first title as well.

“I’ve always wanted to get to state but if I take home a district title for the first time ever, it’ll make me happy,” said Travis Marsh, Linden senior running back/quarterback.
