Nouvel Catholic dominated Pewamo-Westphalia Saturday en route to the state title
DETROIT -- Saginaw Nouvel has dominated on the field all season long, so why would the Division Seven state title game at Ford Field Saturday be any different?
The Panthers brought along their victim's list to the field, 11 down, one more to go.
First play from scrimmage, the hand off is to Bennett Lewis, he made people then, and all day. He tied a state finals record with five rushing touchdowns.
It was 23-0 at the end of the first, 56-12 at the end of the half. The final was 56-26 as Nouvel cruised to their third championship.
"When Bennett came off the field, he said to me, 'I want the ball,'" Head Coach Mike Boyd said. "'Until they stop me, give me the football' and I said absolutely."
"The offensive line did a great job," Running Back Bennett Lewis said. "It was easy to run the ball today. I can't say enough about my teammates, especially that offensive line. We've been playing together for awhile, and they really executed."
