Adam Scott sits a top the leaderboard after tying the lowest Open Championship score at Royal Lytham & St. Annes with a six-under 64 in Thursday's opening round.

Not a lot of breathing room however for Scott as three golfers, 2007 Masters champion Zach Johnson, 1999 Open Championship winner Paul Lawrie and Nicolas Colsaerts, trail Scott by just one stroke.

Bubba Watson, Ernie Els, Graeme McDowell, Rory McIlroy, and Tiger Woods all remain three shots back after shooting a three-under 67.

Scott’s group will tee off at 8:43 a.m. EDT Friday with Woods set to begin his second round an hour later.
