EAST LANSING -- Losing Jerel Worthy to the Green Bay Packers should be no big deal for MSU's defense, according to Defensive end William Gholston.

Last year, the Green and White Defense ranked 6th overall, only allowing 277.4 yards per game. MSU was 7th in sacks, and 9th against the run.

Gholston told reporters at the school's media day, he believes the line is just as explosive, and each and every player wants to, and expects to, make plays.

With eight returning starters, that is a real possibility.

"I feel all the plays made were by how hard everyone was on the line and each and everyone want of us want to make plays now across the board," Gholston said. "We've got great explosion, we're fast off the ball. I feel we can add on to what we did last year and could be better."

MSU opens the season August 31st against Boise State under the lights at Spartan Stadium.
