On Monday night, a flatbed truck drove one of the support beams of the new building to a fundraising event for Powers Catholic. Students as well as donors signed their names on the beam as a way to commemorate the school.

An Oakland County 18-year-old will stand trial in the death of another teen who was hit in the head with a golf club during a fight. Novi District Judge Dennis Powers ruled Thursday there is sufficient evidence for Robert Lowry of White Lake Township to be tried in the Sept. 1 death of 18-year-old Justin Hussin of Wixom.
