The USS Edson is due to arrive in the Saginaw Bay in the next two weeks. She will undergo the works - a full restoration before opening as the newest naval museum. But it's going to take a lot more than just a beauty treatment to ensure she'll attract throngs of visitors.

The USS Edson’s two-week and two-day trip to its new home in Bay County has begun. The Edson will travel up the Eastern seaboard, through the St. Lawrence seaway into Lake Huron, before coming to rest in Bangor Township to become a floating museum at the Saginaw Valley Naval Ship Museum.
