Want to be an official NBC25 Weather Watcher? We’re looking for volunteers in Saginaw, Bay, Midland, Genesee, and surrounding counties across mid-Michigan.

To obtain critical weather information, the NBC25 Weather Center and cooperating organizations such as the National Weather Service, have established community networks of “weather spotters”.

We all know the weather in Michigan is ever-changing. For example: Snow fall or rain amounts can vary from town to town. – Sometimes from neighborhood to neighborhood. A voluntary responsibility of a NBC25 Weather Watcher is to identify and describe weather activity and severe localized storms right from your home. You can report to us via email or call and take pictures from your mobile phone. Let us know what’s going on in your backyard. Because of weather watchers… combined with Doppler radar, satellite, and other technical data, like those provided by the NBC25 Weather Center… we can help people prepare for severe weather, reduce the number of injuries, even prevent deaths.

There can be no finer reward than knowing your efforts have given communities throughout mid-Michigan the precious gift of time before a severe storm strikes.
