Take a short trip down North Loomis Road in Isabella County and you can find dozens without power.

"I have all the camping equipment I need. I can make fires and things said Douglas Sears.

Sears said that is a thought he will consider if his backup generator goes out.

It has been running since early Friday morning, while Sears waits for Consumers Energy to help.

"My neighbor said it might be midnight tomorrow night," said Sears.

As of Friday afternoon, more than 300 people were in the dark including Karyn Smith.

"This morning when we came out we had to take trees off the road," said Smith.

That is a hard task, since temperatures are just below freezing, and the wind howls at 32 miles per hour.
