Gail Liddell said it is common to hear gunshots in her Flint home, but Sunday night the noise was too much to bear.

"They were too close, right outside my window," said Liddell.

Liddell peeked outside her kitchen window and found a man shot dead in a navy blue Mercedez, Sunday night.

This is the 66th homicide in the city for 2012, that matches the city's all time high in 2010.

"The plague of gun violence claimed too many lives this year in Flint. The City has again reached a dreadful record," said Flint Mayor Dayne Walling.

Flint Police calling this year's homicide rate horriffic, even worse, there are still too many unsolved homicides.

To fight back police are making every effort to lock up offenders. A phone call to crimestoppers can turn into $1,000.00 if the tip leads to an arrest.

"Any little bit of information that may be given to Crimestoppers can help to solve a case or add to it" said Officer Tanya Meeks of the Flint Police Department.

So Liddell will do all she can to keep crime out of her neighborhood.

"I picked up the phone and called 911 and told them I heard a bang," said Liddell.
