GENESEE COUNTY -- A Lapeer County Prosecutor will not pursue criminal charges against two former Genesee Intermediate School District administrators accused of misusing district dollars.

Last august, the GISD school board fired assistant superintendent Beverly Knox-Pipes charging her with misusing $88,000 of district money to fund an alleged affair with former superintendent Thomas Svitkovich.

The school district is responding to the Lapeer County Prosecutor, Byron Konschuh's decision to not file criminal charges.

GISD Superintendent, Lisa Hagel, released a statement:

"While the prosecutor may not have felt this could have been proven beyond a reasonable doubt, that doesn't excuse the behavior of these two people."

The state goes on to state that the district respects the decision and will weigh options before taking further action.
