DETROIT -- General Motors has put out a recall for nearly 34,000 Buicks and Cadillacs due to a problem with the automatic transmission.
The recall involves the 2013 Buick Lacrosse Full-Size cars an the 2013 Cadillac SRX Crossover SUVs.
GM says a software problem can cause transmissions in the vehicles to unexpectedly shift into sport mode, which can override any slowing effect and increase the risk of a crash.
GM will reprogram the transmission free of charge.
